The fashion world remembers the eighties as the years of heinous fashion crimes that just cannot be forgiven. Double Denim has made a huge come back lately, I have to say I was never a big fan of Double Denim at all. Until recently.. I think the key to getting it right is wearing two completely different shades of denims. I mean you really don’t want to have matching denim shades in your Double Denim outfit, it will clash and look really wrong and dull. I made this denimish shirt this weekend. It's not really denim, it 100% cotton but looks like denim, i randomly cut out holes and sew lace on top of it. I think it makes a little twist to the denim wanna be shirt. What do you guys think?!
I knew there are a lot of double denim haters out there, I can only hope mine version doesn't fall into the wrong/ bad side of it.. >///<
I KNEW I wasn't the only one who liked denim-on-denim. I think it's such a powerful look and thank you for posting those pictures, you look really good.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I've been double denim skeptic forever but right now I have to admit I start to like this trend. I think it' s important to feel the line - 2 denim pieces in one outfit is ok, 3 or more - still feels like fashion crime :)
ReplyDeletebut your shirt and whole outfit is just perfect, reminds me something of D&G. Cool :)
I'm starting to like denim shirts too, especially the men's kind. Did you diy the whole shirt, or added the lace?
